Kotoura-san

Written by Enokizu. The anime aired in 2013 and was directed by Masahiko Ohta, it consisted of 12 episodes.

So Netflix just added several new series, “Kotoura-san.” being one of them, you can also find it on Crunchyroll. I must say the first episode is so sad but the rest of the series is so funny. I LOVED this series and was sad it was only 12 episodes long, I found myself cracking up every episode. This romantic comedy has such funny moments it will make you want to keep watching.

Kotoura-san is a girl who can read minds, this gift is a seeming curse to her and those around her. Her family falls apart and she is deeply scared by the fallout, thinking that there may be no one who wouldn’t leave her. She thinks all she does is hurt everyone around her and tries to distance herself from everyone because of it. After transferring to another school to try and start fresh she meets Manabe-kun who immediately takes a shine to her and accepts her ability, using it against her with his bombardment of pervy thoughts to make her frazzled.

You meet the President and the Vice President of the ESP club who are very interesting and have different motives when it comes to Kotoura-san along with a daughter of a dojo who likes Manabe. You get to see the awkward hilarity ensue when these new friends spend time with one another and team up to pick on each other. It is a great story about friends accepting each other for who they are and for them to work towards accepting the past. The characters are unique and everyone seems to have rough spots in their life that having friends who really care help very much. Except Manabe…he’s just a perv. ;P
