New Game Obsession: Terraria

My family and I have gone throughout several Minecraft obsessed periods where we would sit down and pretty much continuously play Minecraft for weeks at a time. Since we’ve been waiting for an update for what seems like forever, we have been looking at a few different games to all play as a family. A few months ago one of the Xbox gold games we got for free was Terraria. My husband, daughter and I started playing and quickly began to enjoy all the possibilities available in the game. The only thing we didn’t much like was the split screen and how small everything was on there. I had to sit close to the screen to see. We found out shortly after we started that the PC version had a lot more things and exclusives, so we slacked off building on the Xbox version until we were able to get in on PC.

Once summer began and all the sales started going crazy we quickly snatched up a bundle of 4 Terraria games so that we would each be able to play on our laptops and desktop. I found it easier to play on the PC, and we quickly began to build up our village and explore much quicker than before. We like the wide variety of items you can craft and things you can harvest and collect. It’s cool to welcome all the villagers and find people here and there throughout the world. The boss fights are exciting and crazy, and you always get some great loot.

It is an addicting game, and it is super fun to play with family and friends. Check it out and let me know what you think of it! Have you been playing it already? What are some of your favorite things about the game? Tell me about it in the comments!

  1. I like to call this game Adult Legos. Seriously. I think I spent the first few weeks just building an elaborate castle to house the NPCs and then a large dungeon of captured zombies to protect my ever growing collection of treasure chests.

It’s definitely funner to play with others, but in it’s own way it can be relaxing on your own, especially if you just tunnel everywhere 😀
