Finally it is October! This is most likely my households favorite month out of the year. We decorate the house in spooky things like webs, spiders and pumpkins.
We make time to watch a different scary movie every night of the month and it really is a fun family time. My step-daughter is now 16 so she is now old enough for most horror movies now which widened our choices by a lot. This year these are the movies we have watched and are planning on watching:
- The Brain -1988-
- Before I wake -2016-
- The Shining -1980-
- The Evil Dead -1981-
- Night of the Comet -1984-
- The Stuff -1985-
- Seoul Station -2016-
- Pet Cemetery -1989-
- Hocus Pocus -1993-
- Corpse Bride -2005-
- The Craft -1996-
- Ernest Scared Stupid -1991-
- Battle Royal -2000-
- Train to Busan -2016-
- Creepshow 2 -1989-
- Slither -2006-
- The Hills Have Eyes -1977-
- Texas Chainsaw Massacre -1974-
- Hostel -2005-
- Practical Magic -1998-
- Jeepers Creepers -2001-
- Hereditary -2018-
- Coraline -2009-
- House -1985-
- Tales From the Crypt -1989–1996-

Halloween is my Husband and I’s Anniversary for when we became best friends 8 years ago. We met in September of 2010 and then worked together at a famous Haunted House in Texas all through October. The Haunting season is special to us and we think back on our days as Vampires and Ghouls fondly. This year my little sister who just graduated high school in June may be working at the same Haunted House, I hope she has a memorable and positive experience that she can look back on like we are able to.
This month I have been doing my Autumn deep clean of our home while decorating here and there. While cleaning I find it more productive to listen to podcasts and I have been on a kick of finding and partaking in ones that have a spook value to them. This month these are the podcasts I subscribe too:
- LORE by. Aaron Mahnke
- Unobscured by. Howstuffworks and Aaron Mahnke
- Cabinet of Curiosities by. Howstuffworks and Aaron Mahnke
- Creepy by. Bloody Disgusting Podcast Network
This is the first year I have participated in INKTOBER along with my daughter, we have found it a fun part of the day to work on our drawings and come up with ideas for the days prompts. Already we have learned a few tricks here and there and she has learned a lot in the last 4 days on what you should do to make things proportionate and plan things out in advance to make things easier.
October is a busy month, our town has a county fair that comes in every year and there is also a town festival Octoberfest with all sorts of events. As the weather changes I feel more comfortable and more likely to do comfort hobbies like crochet and read. I also get a bit of seasonal depression sadly and struggle a lot with being homesick this month as I live 600 miles away from my family and home base and I cant help but think about previous Octobers and adventures of old.
It will be 2 years tomorrow since I got on a plane and flew to South Korea to spend a few weeks seeing friends I hadn’t gotten to see in 7 years and have a adventure of a lifetime. The last two years have been rough with health issues getting worse, dealing with a lot of ennui after my trip and having many ups and downs with day to day life. Only recently have I felt like I am waking up from a half asleep nap and getting many things in order that were over due. I pulled out my sewing machine for the first time in over two years to work on some projects. I have started writing and drawing again after a time of blank mind.
This October is to be is a month of new beginnings, working on skills, organizing life and continuing to learn about myself in many ways. I am excited to be moving forward and working towards my goals.

Hi everyone! I hope everyone has had a good year so far and are making lots of good goals and plans for this new year. I know I myself have been taking the first few weeks of the new year to think about what I want to accomplish and goals to set. I am in the process of redesigning my website look and how things are set up for a better viewing experience. I have a lot of plans this year!
In the next few weeks I have a list of reviews I will be putting up and streams I will be planning. Here are a few of the things I plan on reviewing in the next bit:
- A place further than the Universe
- Sanrio Boys
- School Babysitters
- Junji Ito Collection
- Karakai Jozu no Takagi-san
- Horizon Zero Dawn
- Rise of the Tomb Raider
- Pokemon Moon
Games I am planning to stream:
- Life is Strange
- The vanishing of Ethan Carter
- What remains of Edith Finch
- Stardew Valley
I am also going to be doing a lot of crafting soon and may do tutorials for various things. I am planning on opening a little shop in the near future and also have a few awesome travel videos and tips and trick videos/articles that I will be working on very soon.
Is there anything you think I should check out or do? Let me know in the comments!
This video may be a bit rambley but I don’t often talk about this aspect and I think that people should a little more. I have watched many people go through infertility and I myself have gone through it and would like to start an ongoing conversation. I think with more understanding and support it would make certain things a little better. What do you think of how Infertility is seen in our Society? Are there any questions you have or stories you would like to share? I would love to hear them and talk with you. Comment below or email me at Kawaiihousewife14@gmail.com.
We have seen so much tragedy the past few weeks and it has left me in a constant state of thought. Ive read peoples statuses and articles and have been so glad to see such support from most everyone (though there are still a sprinkling of rotten people). The Pulse massacre in Orlando broke my heart, I just thought about what if. What if it had been at one of the clubs my close friends work at in Dallas? Then I thought that all these people that lost their lives to soon WERE all my friends, they were me, they were family. The thought that this can happen anywhere really is scary but I am glad that everyone isn’t just hiding away, ignoring it. We need to stay strong and fight against the injustice, the ignorance that seems too prevalent in this society. We need to have a nation wide conversation about, understanding, taking care of mental illness instead of treating it like a taboo, safety, acceptance and equality. We can be one Great America but we will never be Great unless we are able to join together.
To my LGBTQ brothers and sisters, we are strong. I love each and every one of you and hope from the bottom of my heart it’s getting better. Strides have been made the past few years, there may be dark days and snags in the road but as long as we continue to move forward it will get better.
To all my fellow humans, be good to one another. Try and make a difference in someones day, be kind when you don’t want to be. Don’t act on your childish rage on the road or at the store or eating out, you are better than that. You have no idea what someone else goes though every day. Your impatience and ignorance and unkind words and actions towards someone could be the straw that broke their back and they decide that there is no point in them being alive. You have no idea what has happened in their day, they could have lost someone, been through hell and back and if you are not able to help out by simply being kind and compassionate then please shut up and think before you act. I’m tired of my friends dying too young, whether it was out of their power or was by their own hand, im tired.
To any of you, if you want to talk about anything at all, I am here for you. If you feel alone, I am here for you. Let’s show people LOVE wins.
